EXCELLENT Based on 52 reviews Posted on Elizabeth PriceTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a fantastic experience with LBS Stone. They were always incredibly helpful and professional, providing perfect stone and marble surfaces and surrounds for a number of rooms, all cut and finished to perfection.Posted on Bruce McNicolTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great advice and service! We have used LBS twice in recent months. They provided beautiful tile and marble from their "offcuts" which act as shelves in our refurbished bathroom and shower. They add a real quality feel to the rooms and of course are incredibly hard wearing. Many thanks, Marcus and the team, for going the extra mile and making it all so easy!Posted on Julia VarelaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This is my 3rd project with LBS. Great range of materials and lots to see in showroom. Everyone is super helpful and very professional; from enquiry to fitting.Posted on Angie PeskettTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What a great local company, so pleased we came across them. Marcus spent a lot of time with us deciding on which product to choose and he was also very patient with me!! Shane the surveyor was really helpful, our kitchen was a little uneven so he advised we needed to sort some things out first, which we did and our quartz worktop was fitted the week after. The installation team Ash and Luke were brilliant and very tidy. There was a lot of back and forth communication with Marcus as I changed my mind but nothing was to much trouble. I would definitely recommend LBS for their professionalism, support and their products. My photos don't do the worktop justice unfortunately.Posted on steve crossTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Fantastic local business, with a great range of products and excellent customer service. Marcus helped steer us to the perfect choice of material for our kitchen work surface. Competitive prices, professional installation team and great after-sales service. Only wish I had another kitchen to do !!!! Thanks all. Really pleased with end resultPosted on Nick ProbinTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had our new quartz kitchen and utility worktops fitted a couple of months ago and are extremely pleased. We met with Lawrence several months before to discuss the various options and were pleased to have found a local business who could fulfil our needs with a wide variety of choices. Service was always professional and polite and the actual fitting done to an extremely high standard.Posted on Susan ThomasTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great service and selection at LBS stone. We borrowed some samples which really helped confirm our choice. The laser templating was very impressive with amazing attention to detail. We chose a lambs tongue edge for our grade 2 property not wishing to look too modern. Also our work top is eco friendly made in Germany with low silica content which is something we were concerned about. Marcus and Lawrence spent time discussing options with no pressure.Posted on Martin PhillipsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Learn More About Porcelain Worktops
What are porcelain worktops and why choose them?
Porcelain countertops are a form of premium ceramic made from natural ingredients including fine clay, Feldspar and quartz. These are combined with dyes and baked at very high temperatures, around 1400 degrees centigrade, to create strong and dense porcelain in various styles. The material is produced in a variety of thicknesses for different applications, for example thin 4mm sheets can be used for cladding walls and furniture while thicker 20mm slabs are used for worktops.
Key benefits of porcelain countertops:
- Very hard and unlikely to crack, chip or be scuffed even with frequent use
- Impervious to moisture and therefore stain repellent
- Hygienic and easy to clean, without the need for sealant
- Resistant to changes in temperature including high heat and frost
- Can be used outdoors and won’t fade when exposed to UV rays
- Countless surface effects and colours, with matte, gloss or silk finishes
- Suitable for kitchen worktops, bathrooms, wall cladding, flooring and more
What types of porcelain countertops do we offer?
LBS Stone can fabricate and supply porcelain worktops from a multitude of brands, but these are some of the most popular brands we offer:
- Dekton – Possibly the best-known type of porcelain worktop material, Dekton is manufactured by Cosentino in Spain. It is offered in 60 different styles including stone, metal and wood effects, and is a carbon neutral product. Dense and highly compact, Dekton is very robust with a rating of 7 on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness. That’s around the same as natural granite, but with much lower porosity.
- Caesarstone porcelain – Caesarstone have been creating stylish and functional work surfaces since 1987. Experts in quartz, they now also produce chic porcelain worktops in various striking colours and patterns, including metallic veined designs. Better yet, they are reinforced with fibreglass-mesh backing for maximum strength.
- Uniceramica – Part of the long-standing Brachot brand, Uniceramica porcelain countertops are designed to replicate the look and feel of natural stone. With that in mind, they offer authentic limestone, marble, granite, basalt and travertine styles. Each is available in matte, polished or velvet finishes, and a range of neutral tones.
- XTONE – Specialising in large format surfaces, XTONE by Porcelanosa offer fluid porcelain worktop designs. Explore grained, crystalline and veined styles designed to mimic natural materials, or opt for a contemporary cement-like look. You can also tailor the edge finish as preferred.
- Neolith – Made with 98% recycled materials, all of which are naturally derived, Neolith sintered stone worktops are durable, hygienic and recyclable. Their range includes natural stone, industrial, iron, steel and timber designs to suit different types of décor. Each of which come with a 25 year warranty for peace of mind.
What else can porcelain surfaces for be used for?
Porcelain worktops for kitchen units and islands are the most popular application for this luxury material. However, we can also produce durable kitchen splashbacks, wall cladding and flooring in matching or contrasting styles upon request. Not to mention bespoke porcelain countertops to complete your bathroom vanity unit, windowsills, tabletops and more.
What is the difference between porcelain, sintered stone and ceramic worktops?
Sintered stone and porcelain worktops are the same material. However, whilst porcelain is technically a form of ceramic, it is much denser and stronger than other ceramics. This is due to its more refined ingredients and the much higher firing temperature used to produce it. This in turn makes for high performing, stain and scratch resistant porcelain kitchen countertops. Meanwhile, ceramic surfaces are generally more susceptible to chips, cracks and are slightly less robust.
