KITCHEN WORKTOP EDGING OPTIONS
Choosing the right worktop finish is crucial, but so is your worktop edging. It completes the look of your kitchen. Your worktop edge options depend on the type of stone you select, and the style of your interiors and cabinetry. Rounded and Bevelled edges are the most popular and affordable, which suffices for the majority of stone worktops. However, more detailed edges like Ogee, Sharks Nose and Dupont also have their place to finish off a more contemporary or traditional setting in a more intricate manner. See popular examples of worktop edging we can produce below.
POPULAR TYPES OF KITCHEN WORKTOP EDGING
We offer a wide variety of worktop edges to suit every style of kitchen and budget. From simple designed to stacked edge profiles, edge styles can also be combined to create a unique style. These are a selection of some of the most popular edge finishes we can create for you.
Bevelled Edging
This edge maintains the surface thickness and appears square with a slanted top edge. This is a very popular edge that lends itself to the sleek contemporary handleless kitchens that are becoming more common place in the home.
Bullnose Edging
A completely rounded finish that maintains the surface’s thickness. This elegant edge finish offers a soft feel lent towards curved kitchen designs.
Half Bullnose Edging
The delicate curve of a bullnose edge with a flat bottom. The soft, rounded top makes this edge perfect for traditional kitchens.
Sharks Nose Edging
A cut back edge with a choice of bevelled or rounded top section. Very commonly installed into handleless kitchen designs to ergonomically allow the user more space to open the doors.
Dupont Edging
A classic style edge with a simple step down before cutting out to a half bullnose. This edge is popular in classic traditional kitchens with shaker style doors.
Coved Dupont Edging
A crescent curve that leads into a 90-degree angle with a rounded bottom. A classic, refined edge profile with a touch of a modern design.
Ogee Edging
This traditional style edge features a concave arch that transitions into a convex arch. This is also often called a ‘Lambs Tongue edge’.
Mitred Edging
A mitred edge is created when the corners of two slabs are cut to a 45-degree angle and seamlessly joined together. Commonly used to create a thicker overall worktop look using industry standard thickness materials.
Pencil Edging
A soft round to the top and bottom edge, this edge detail is our preferred and most common detail used for our worktop installations.
